Eating a balanced diet and working out are the keys to losing weight.  It is important to note that you don't want to lose weight too quickly.  Two pounds a week is a healthy goal.  If you lose weight too quickly, your body will have a hard time adjusting and you also have the potential to gain all of the weight back.
